US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is leaving for Saudi Arabia later today, along with National Security Adviser Mike Walz, where they will discuss how to end the war in Ukraine, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Before leaving, he noted that he "hopes to make really good progress" in the talks between Kiev and Moscow.
Witkoff also said that US representatives are holding separate talks with Ukraine and stressed that Kiev "is part of the talks".
Meanwhile, he added that talks on the second phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian group "Hamas" will continue this week "at a location to be determined".
In an interview with "Fox News", Witkoff said that earlier today he had "very productive and constructive" talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and the Egyptian intelligence director.
Later today, Netanyahu's office announced that the Israeli negotiating team would leave for Cairo tomorrow, where the Gaza ceasefire agreement would be discussed.
