According to the media, "Hamas" has set a condition for handing over power to the Palestinian National Authority. Its essence is to preserve jobs for employees in the new administration or to retire with guarantees of maintaining salaries.
According to the source, the decision to transfer power was made by the leadership of "Hamas" after strong pressure from Egypt during the recent negotiations in Cairo.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the US would "take control" of the Gaza Strip and be responsible for the work of rebuilding the region, as well as turn it into a "Middle Eastern Riviera" for the whole world. At the same time, he called the current Gaza Strip a place for destruction and said that its residents should leave for other countries forever, offering, in particular, Jordan or Egypt for their residence. He also did not rule out the possibility of the US sending its army to Gaza and promised to personally visit the sector.
Reuters, citing its own sources, wrote that Arab countries have drawn up at least four plans regarding the future of the Gaza Strip, one of which includes the creation of a buffer zone to prevent the construction of tunnels along the border with Egypt and the creation of temporary zones for Palestinians to reside.
