The large landing ship of the Russian Navy “Admiral Nevelskoy“ conducted artillery firing as part of military exercises in the Sea of Japan, Interfax and Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
According to the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet, the exercises were aimed at testing the air defense system. The ship's crew opened fire on a simulated air target, and also used large-caliber machine guns against small maneuvering objects imitating enemy unmanned boats.
The exercises are part of the planned military maneuvers of the Pacific Fleet, the press service specified.
