Air quality in the capital of Ukraine has deteriorated due to fires "in the ecosystems of the Kyiv region", residents of the city are advised not to open their windows, the Kyiv City State Administration reported.
„There is a temporary deterioration in air quality in Kiev, the pollution level is high. The probable cause is fires in the ecosystem of the Kyiv region and meteorological conditions (in particular, low wind speed), which contribute to the accumulation and retention of harmful impurities in the ground layer of air,“ the city administration said in a message on its Telegram channel.
They recommended that residents limit their time outdoors, drink plenty of water and close their windows.
At the same time, local media wrote that the city smells of smoke, and the areas on the left bank are covered in smog.
