Alliance for Rights and Freedom supported the declaration with which the PP–DB called for the creation of a "sanitary cordon" around Delyan Peevski and on this basis to conduct negotiations for the formation of a government. Here is what the party announced:
Today at a meeting of the Central Committee of the DPS, we decided to categorically support the declaration of “We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria” to create a sanitary cordon around the figure of Delyan Peevski. This declaration is not just an act of political position, but a step forward in affirming the principles that the authentic DPS under the leadership of Mr. Ahmed Dogan has been talking about for months. The priorities of transparency, justice and the rule of law cannot be distorted by personal or oligarchic interests. Political ideas must be turned into deeds, not shadows of influence.
We believe that the declaration should be expanded to cover the most sensitive issues for society. We insist on the creation of a temporary commission to examine the role of Delyan Peevski in the events surrounding KTB, Bulgartabac, BBR, the "8 Dwarfs" scandal, as well as his influence in the prosecution and the judicial system.
It is no less important that the next Parliament urgently starts the procedure for electing the Ombudsman and Deputies in the Audit Chamber to ensure that any subsequent elections are not manipulated by a double tandem of political stooges. The state is not a stage where political actors act out scenarios of false confidence.
This is why our support will be unwavering for any initiative that aims to re-count the ballots and completely cancel the elections held in the presence of declared violations in front of the entire Bulgarian society. The democratic process on which our future is built has been cruelly trampled. We call for the restoration of justice and respect for the will of the citizens.
We appeal to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria as the unifier of the nation, the institution with the highest rating and the political leader who stands equidistant from all parties – to appeal to the Constitutional Court for election violations. Let our democracy not be reduced to a tool in the hands of forces whose goal is destruction. When the house of Bulgaria faces a fire, every honest hand must be extended to save it.
The situation we are in is unprecedented. For the first time there are so many alerts. The media correctly reflected in many of the sections, throughout Bulgaria we also saw our partners from the European Union, who also saw how the elections were held in many places. This is very worrying because there is vote substitution in all its aspects, and this is not permissible. We call on all competent institutions and bodies to finally fulfill their obligations and those who are the perpetrators and those who are the guarantors become clear to all of us, to the whole society, so that what happened does not is repeated.
