Andrey Raichev: There are pitiful survivors in the parliament - 1

It seems to me that Boyko Borisov does not believe that any government can happen, and just negotiating so it doesn't look like he failed it. Sociologist Andrey Raichev said this in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the world in focus" on Radio "Focus“.

He pointed out that even before the elections, the leader of GERB hinted that he might back down on the issue of the post of prime minister. "He does it for a bargain. He says "I – prime minister“ so that he can later say "Here – I gave up the prime ministership, now you also give up whatever you are“.“

According to him, Boyko Borisov is buying time. "He is buying time to elect the attorney general, to get Trump in office, to defeat his friendly allies in Germany. "He's just waiting and buying time," explained the sociologist.

He also commented on the decision on the full acceptance of Bulgaria into Schengen. "Bulgaria is being sold things that have already been sold. Schengen has already taken place. Will it be plus or minus 6 months or 1 year – all the same. The Eurozone is very important and useful for Bulgaria, but it is something that Bulgaria does not want. And because Boyko Borisov is in an extremely good international position, he emphasizes his advantages. He has never been as connected in the world as he will be now if all his cards come out. And they have already come out,”, stated Andrey Raichev.

There is no real political conversation in parliament. "What political issue are they talking about – Did they talk about peace in Ukraine, did they talk about the Green Deal, did they talk about migrant flows? The question gen is being discussed. Atanasov to be the head of the parliament. This is not a political conversation. Here are pitiful efforts of surviving people to extend their lives a little”, commented the sociologist.

He expects GERB to support Atanas Atanasov's candidacy for Speaker of the Parliament. "The question is whether Atanasov will find twenty more deputies to make his dream come true,” added Raychev.
