„Chaos breeds monsters” and the “acting politicians” are to blame for this. Bulgaria is becoming an example of an ungovernable country. The populist approach to policy-making must change – it is poisoned because it leads to civil war.
This is what he said in the show “This morning“ on bTV Rosen Plevneliev. He was president between 2012-2017.
„I am very hurt by what is happening in our country. Last week I was with the King of Spain and the President of Portugal, and the week before – with the UN Secretary General and 90 state leaders.
I don't know what to say anymore, I want to cry. Total chaos.
Bulgaria is turning into a country where society and the political elite cannot provide solutions to problems,” he pointed out.
Rosen Plevneliev is adamant that “chaos breeds monsters” and the “acting politicians” are to blame for this. He emphasized that there is a serious division and asked rhetorically: “Where are we headed?! Towards a civil war?!“. According to him, battles should not be fought, but dialogue should be sought.
„The populist approach to policy-making must change – he is poisoned. Populists do something very simple: “This is me, this is my group in society, and the rest are others”. And immediately the division in society begins. And this division at some point becomes uncontrollable”, he also said.
Rosen Plevneliev also commented that Bulgaria has been in a severe political crisis for four years now. According to him, if GERB-SDS and PP-DB do not start talking,
our country will enter the fifth year of this crisis.
He is adamant that Boyko Borisov is flexible, but the political parties “cannot swallow some things that have happened in recent years – such as the illegal detention of the leader of GERB“.
Rosen Plevnelie admitted that over the years he was seriously attacked by Delyan Peevski, regardless of the fact that he never met him. However, according to him, the problem is not in the particular oligarch, but in meaningful judicial reforms.
