Dark, rainy, humid – such weather awaits us during the weekend according to prof. Georgi Rachev.
„Starting now, until Monday and Tuesday. A lot of rain will fall, there will be some sunshine from time to time, and right on December 8, on the day when young people should absorb the sun's rays, it will come out. They will need it as a preparation for the evening, as vitamin D is the basis of the breakdown of alcohol,” explained Prof. Rachev in front of bTV.
„A well-defined cyclone will pass through Bulgaria – temperatures will drop and there will be plenty of precipitation. Already today between Sofia and Western Bulgaria it will rain in the afternoon. This will be the beginning of the whole process, he added.
And from next week, while it will be cold in Western Europe, temperatures are rising significantly in the Balkans. In Lisbon and Madrid, for example, it will be much colder, compared to Sofia and Istanbul.
From Monday in Eastern Bulgaria, temperatures will reach between 16 and 17 degrees, and in Sofia and Western Bulgaria between 7 and 10 degrees.
„These are all above normal temperatures. They are not normal for December. So far we are running about 3 degrees above normal and this anomaly will continue to increase in the coming days. Warm weather – the snow will melt and I hope that with the upcoming rains, the water regime in Pleven and Lovech will be eased, said the climatologist.
From Monday, relatively warm weather starts until next Sunday, when precipitation is expected again.
„If this takes place, because it will rain over the whole of Bulgaria, it means that in many places the monthly rate of precipitation will be filled and all this will continue to be only and only in plus,“ specified Prof. Rachev.
Today they officially open the ski season in Bansko, and tomorrow this is expected to happen in Pamporovo as well.
„It will continue to snow in the high mountain near the slopes. There are already ski conditions and they will only get better. There will be heavy rain before the eighth and even heavier rain after the eighth of December. It will continue to rain in the rest of the country – including in Eastern Bulgaria”, said Prof. Rachev.
