Bulgaria and Romania will fully enter the Schengen area from January 1, 2025, and control will be carried out on a random basis.
"This principle is not very random, there are rules, even with "Risk Analysis" there is no randomness. Those who carry out this control - the employees of the "Border Police", determine the risky cars and citizens. They do not check them at the border itself, but inside the country. It may be information received from other structures of the Ministry of Interior, the National Agency for National Security and National Defense and other state bodies that deal with the control of goods".
This was said by security expert Assoc. Prof. Milen Ivanov in the studio of "Denyat ON AIR".
He hopes that the National Security System will work without fail.
"Before, when I worked, there were a lot of problems. In all circumstances, information must be concentrated and there must be a single center. At the moment, there is none, or if there is, it is formal. Whether the services are breached - the situation has two sides. They are either encapsulated or breached. There is no service that cannot be breached. There are no political efforts on the part of politicians and the executive branch to solve this problem," added Assoc. Prof. Ivanov on the air of Bulgaria ON AIR.
In his words, a reform of philosophy is necessary: "Currently, there is an overlap of structures, there are unnecessary branches, there are frankly meaningless structures. There are also those that are extremely important, but they are not invested in".
"The situation on a global scale has become very risky and dynamic in terms of migration flows. 7 or 8 EU countries have stated that they are stopping the processing of documents of migrants from Syria, we are still listening. This is a decision that the executive and legislative branches must make, because after the fall of Assad, a number of grounds for these people to receive refugee status have disappeared", emphasized the former deputy rector of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Assoc. Prof. Ivanov is categorical that we must be aware that by winning Schengen, we must also be aware of the upcoming problems.
"It is completely realistic that there will be unforeseen migration flows. The system must be ready to react to the worst-case scenario. A serious analysis must be made. "The people who interview these people must be exceptional language experts, because it's very easy to interview someone through an interpreter, and they very easily understand that the person interviewing them doesn't know the language. Then they start lying," the guest added.
