Yesterday, bTV obtained details and fragments of the agreement that they worked on and which the four political formations still did not conclude. Why did the negotiations between the first political force - GERB and the others - break down at such an advanced stage?
„I sincerely hope that common sense will prevail in Bulgaria and especially in the parliament. This time the negotiations seemed much more serious, more responsible, with an almost final agreement prepared, and that is why I believe that a solution must be found“, explained Meglena Plugchieva, former Deputy Prime Minister and former MP from the Bulgarian Socialist Party.
According to her, there is no single party responsible for the failure of the negotiation process.
„All the conditions set by the Bulgarian National Assembly were accepted and respected by GERB and the other participants in the negotiations. This is how we reach a final decision on the personality of the Prime Minister. Those who are against the official proposal of GERB - Rosen Zhelyazkov, must come out and say why, because these people are throwing the country into chaos“, said Plugchieva.
„Since Rosen Zhelyazkov is not accepted, what are the proposals of the Bulgarian National Assembly? By name? Let them be given. Bring them out in public, because these individuals cannot be unknown or anonymous“, she urged.
Against this backdrop, President Rumen Radev has not yet handed over the first exploratory mandate. Yesterday he clearly said that he was giving a few more days – potentially until the end of the week, to have some dialogue and for politicians to return to the negotiating table.
„I sincerely hope that it will be decided whether with the first or with another mandate, but there must be a regular government. Now the caretaker government is not doing anything other than bragging. At the same time, all sectors are sinking more and more – "There is no electricity, there is no water, we pray to God to fill the dams," the former deputy prime minister said.
Plugchieva called for more reason in political circles and for a quick solution to be found for stable governance.
"We desperately need this," she said categorically, adding that without urgent action, the country is threatened with even deeper chaos.
