The deputies adopted on first reading all three bills related to changes in the Law on the Judiciary, which include the suspension of the election of Borislav Sarafov as Prosecutor General, as well as the removal from the post of the acting Prosecutor General.
"The problem is what we are doing and why we are doing it, and where this will lead. Of course, something, albeit belated, must be done. Many of the representatives did everything possible for the parliament to have more than a month of empty time, and for the remaining "full" time not to be filled. According to him, the fall in the Constitutional Court has no reverse effects.
"If the changes are adopted, the procedure will be stopped. Sarafov will be able to return, he can be nominated if there are no other sanction regimes against him. He can be returned without the Constitutional Court overturning the texts, there will simply be a new procedure. For more than 2 years, the deputies did not think about how to fill the composition of the Supreme Judicial Council, which is a big problem. The Deputy Prosecutor General protects the prosecution in the form in which it was responsible for its activities, "added Svinarov on the air of Bulgaria ON AIR.
He is of the opinion that for the political forces that will govern Bulgaria, their survival is much more important.
"This composition, which at the time overthrew the government of Kiril Petkov, was the composition that also introduced the paper ballot. If you could manipulate the machines - you would not return the paper ballot. The electoral code aims to make the elections fairer and minimize manipulation. Apparently, "Vazrazhdane" has understood that manipulations are made with paper ballots. And there is no need to guess - let's see in which sections the election results are appealed," commented the former minister.
Svinarov believes that in the "Defense" Sector tough measures must be taken.
"Not only in terms of increasing the percentage of capital expenditures, but also a large percentage should be allocated to training personnel. The same applies to the Ministry of Internal Affairs system. It is extremely important that the bodies dealing with internal and external security are well trained, act adequately and with all the rigor of the law", added Svinarov.
