The remuneration for acquired work experience and professional experience, better known as the concept of "class of service", for civil servants, is demanded by the "Podkrepa" Confederation of Trade Unions. They have also organized a petition in all trade union structures at the national level. Those working in the state administration have been deprived of this supplement to their salaries since 2012 and in practice do not receive an additional percentage on the basic salary.
Minko has been working as a chief expert in the Municipality of Burgas for 17 years. Since 2012, he has not received money for service and is calculating the losses.
“Personally, my losses are about 400 leva per month. For example, I have 35 years of service and should have a 35% class. On an average salary of about 2000 leva, you get a lot of money”, commented chief expert at the Directorate “Healthcare, Claims and Social Activities” at the Municipality of Burgas Minko Koev.
“Their class was taken away 12 years ago by the then notorious Minister Dyankov with the promise that they would not lose from being taken away from their class, which was so elementary. With a basic salary of 933 leva “class of time served” is 67.18 leva. For 12 months, 806 leva is lost. It is a serious amount”, explained the chairman of the CT “Podkrepa” - Burgas Ivan Kostadinov.
The class is indexed every year based on a year of work experience. The civil servants who work under an employment relationship in institutions such as the National Social Security Institute, the Labor Inspectorate and the Labor Bureau are the ones who are harmed.
“They pay their own insurance burden-taxes, they pay everything from the gross labor income they have, which means that they are absolutely harmed”, explained Ivan Kostadinov.
A petition is underway, distributed to all union structures.
“All civil servants who are our members and those who are not have joined. They have joined from a variety of other structures and industries, who in turn want to support their colleagues from the union organization in solidarity. They want to eliminate this injustice and this inequality between civil servants and those who are under the Labor Code”, explained the secretary of the SRC “Podkrepa” - Burgas Antonia Todorova.
The signature will be sent to all responsible institutions.
