Military Minister Atanas Zapryanov showed a "yellow card" to the head of the Higher Air Force School (HAFS) Gen. Julian Radoyski, after an inspection of his work was carried out. The reason for the inspection at the Air Force School was a complaint from a cadet who was removed from training with the intervention of the head of the school Gen. Julian Radoyski. He appeared in the role of an instructor without actually having such rights!? An inspection by the Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) immediately followed, which in turn revoked the pilot training license issued to the Training Organization "Dimitar Spisarevski". As the CAA order to suspend the license points out "immediate danger to the lives of the trainees and citizens". The training organization is part of the Air Force School, having been established at the Center for Postgraduate Qualification and Training of Foreigners and its head is the head of the school, Gen. Julian Radoyski. The "Dimitar Spisarevski" organization should only train pilots for civil aviation - something like a flight school at the military school. What is happening in the Air Force... Petar Ivanov speaks to FACT former military pilot-instructor in the Air Force.
- Mr. Ivanov, you are a former military pilot and you know well what and how happens in the army. How do you view the fact that the head of the Air Force School, Gen. Julian Radoyski, received a “yellow card“ from the Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov, who has ordered inspections of his work. How do you accept these things?
- The inspection was ordered to avoid the main problem in the Air Force - THE LOSS OF PILOTS. The inspection that was carried out was not effective regarding the crash and was redirected to the Higher Air Force School, which has nothing to do with the incident that occurred. The emphasis is shifted to the cadet from the school, who is suspended from flights due to “flight failure“.
- It is about the training of civilian pilots and the granting of civilian pilot licenses to cadets, because the “Georgi Benkovski” Higher Military Air School, like the naval one, must also train personnel for civil aviation… What mistakes have been made…
- As a NATO member state, our programs should be like those in other air force academies. International flights are made by military pilots who must be familiar with civil aviation procedures. This is the reason why the first internship of the cadets is civilian, and the remaining two – military.
- Do you see a mistake here?
- What I consider a mistake is that military pilots and instructors have not obtained a license for civil aircraft instructors (AC).
- It is stated that General Radojski flew as an instructor without being an instructor. How is this possible?
- General Radojski is an experienced military instructor with over 30 years of experience. According to the plans of the VVVU, cadets fly 3 internships during their training period. The first internship is carried out on civil aircraft, according to EASA rules, which is within 50 flight hours.
- What does this include?
- During the first stage of training, cadet pilots are allowed to fly solo after demonstrating the necessary skills. The cadet Aysun Tair, whom I mentioned earlier, was stopped from flying by two licensed instructors, not by General Radoyski. The head of the school gave her the opportunity to make a few more additional flights in order to be allowed to fly solo. Despite the opportunity given to her, she did not show the necessary skills.
By not allowing her to fly solo, an aviation accident was avoided that would have endangered her life and the aviation equipment.
Look, the inspection of the crash, which was done by General Tsanko Stoykov, instead of the 12th airbase, was done at the VVVU and it turns out that General Radoyski was to blame for the accident, and he is not on good terms with Colonel Bankov! It is an open secret that Stoykov and Bankov are very close friends and all the gossip about Radoyski comes from Bankov. And I think Bankov is one of the indirect culprits for the crash because he turned a blind eye to the "air hooliganism" of the pilots in the airport area, etc.
