During World War II, German manufacturer Oskar Schindler saved the lives of more than 1,200 Jews.
When the war ended, the rescued Jews gave him a ring with the following inscription:
„Whoever saves a single human life saves an entire universe.“ This is what Slavi Trifonov wrote on social media.
I want you to think: if you had the opportunity, would you do this? To save a human life? In fact, I guess you have thought about it many times – what would you sacrifice, what would you give and what would you do to save a human life.
Today my colleagues, Dragomir Petrov and Alexander Valchev, reminded me of something that happened nearly three years ago. That's why I'm writing these words because I want to share it with you.
From 2017 to July 2022, 225 traffic accidents occurred on the road in the Kresna Gorge - 69 serious, with 110 injured and 15 dead. In July 2022, the then Minister of Regional Development, Grozdan Spasov Karadjov, issued an order and placed stakes that separated the two lanes in the Kresna Gorge. As a result, from then until the end of 2023 (when statistics are available) 24 traffic accidents were registered, with 8 injured and not a single victim. Not a single one. There is also no victim for 2024, but the official statistics have not yet been released. That is, thanks to the actions of this man, Grozdan Karadjov, many human lives have been saved. Many universes. Or in other words, perhaps thanks to his actions the life of our acquaintance, our friend, our loved one or our relative has been saved. That's how things are.
And since the highest human action and the highest moral move is to save a human life, I wanted to say all this so that people know and remember.
