Many interests need to be balanced and the first conflict will come soon over the appointments of deputy ministers and regional governors. I would not say that there will be radical revanchism, since the cabinet will hardly have that much time, commented in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio, political scientist Prof. Todor Galunov.
"But if we assume that the replacement of state political figures is revanchism, I think this is rather normal. The appointment procedure is equal to the dismissal procedure. Changing regional governors is a normal practice," he explained in the program "Something More."
And he wished the current cabinet "to implement a successful and slightly boring government, because if it's boring, then there are no scandals."
According to him, the partners in the government will have a hard time agreeing on the posts, because this difficultly assembled four-party coalition will want to consume power.
"The opposition, I think, will get a minimal part of its demands and should come to terms", advises the political scientist.
He commented that the cabinet was made in a way in which responsibility has taken precedence, but the structure of the cabinet shows instability:
"After 3 months, it will be seen that everyone has electoral damage. It is difficult to combine left and right politics in one. The GERB-BSP combination seems unnatural in terms of what money should be spent. I think this cabinet is paving the way for a new party to emerge as an alternative or for a small party outside of power to get its ratings boosted."
