9 districts of the capital are without heating and hot water due to damage to a main heating pipeline. The kindergarten directors there have secured radiators, and the school directors are waiting for instructions from the Ministry of Education and Science on whether to switch to online learning.
The Ombudsman Institution has notified the Energy Committee in Parliament and the Minister of Energy about the frequent heating system failures in the capital.
"The failures of the compromised pipelines reasonably raise doubts about the actual state of the heat transmission network and raise questions about the fulfillment of the obligations of "Toplofikatsiya - Sofia"", the Ombudsman Institution writes.
According to the municipal councilor from the group "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria - Save Sofia" Dragomir Ivanov, the company has not been managed well in recent years.
"The network is in a deplorable state. The cogeneration units that produce electricity do not work properly. We will receive a poor, low-quality service and it will be inconsistent. We have to get used to the fact that "Toplofikatsiya - Sofia" will constantly break down. We need a general solution for the company," he commented.
