I believe that Bulgaria should be the country that wants peace talks and talks to be held on our territory. This was stated by Social Minister Borislav Gutsanov after receiving criticism for his participation in an event at the Russian embassy, which was also attended by Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova.
I think it is clear that there was nothing hidden, he said and added that he was there in his capacity as a representative of the Bulgarian Socialist Party and a member of the party's leadership. The minister said that this was a scientific conference attended by academics, MEPs, as well as a former prime minister. He emphasized that the event was not at the Russian embassy.
„You see that the atmosphere in the world is completely different, yesterday there was a phone conversation between President Trump and President Putin for more than an hour and a half“, Gutsanov also commented. He expressed the opinion that wars that cause casualties are not a normal thing. We need to return to normality, peace is the most important thing, he said.
Regarding the call for a boycott of retail chains, Minister Gutsanov said that prices are "outrageously high". It is not normal for the prices of basic food products in Austria to be lower than in Bulgaria, he noted. There needs to be a dialogue between political parties, you see that there is one in the parties that participate in the government, he commented in response to a question. It is very good that we found a common path to have a regular cabinet, and not to run for elections once again, but of course there are different views, Gutsanov said.
