The Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB) expresses categorical disagreement with the complete ban on vapes and calls for an in-depth discussion with representatives of business organizations, jurisprudence, health and pedagogical specialists.
A day ago, the parliament unanimously voted in first reading for a complete ban on the supply, sale, distribution and advertising of electronic cigarettes for single and multiple use, containing or not nicotine - the so-called vapes, as well as devices resembling them. This happened with changes to the Law on Tobacco, Tobacco and Related Products, introduced by the Chairman of the Health Commission Kostadin Angelov, BTA recalls.
By imposing a complete ban on the Bulgarian market of an entire category of legal products with proven qualities and origin, the problem of illegal trade in dangerous vape products with unclear origin, quality and composition, including narcotic substances, will not be resolved in our country, but on the contrary, the opposite effect will be achieved - an increase in illegal trade in vapes with uncontrollable content and unclear origin, a decline in potential excise revenues from legal products in the state budget and causing enormous damage to legal business, the state and society, warns the Bulgarian Tobacco and Related Products Commission.
And it insists on increased control by law enforcement agencies to comply with the ban on the distribution of narcotic substances in any form and effective control to comply with the complete ban on the sale of tobacco, nicotine and nicotine-free products online, as well as their advertising on social media. networks.
