The public discussion of the draft law on the agri-food chain begins. This will introduce a ceiling on markups throughout the entire cycle - from production to traders.

At the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, it became clear that the bill on the ceiling of markups is already ready.
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov recommended that chains and consumer organizations be included in the public discussion. The Minister of Agriculture clarified that the law will not explicitly state a specific percentage of markups, since it is about contractual relations between the individual units in the chain. Against this backdrop, a fifth boycott against high food prices is expected to take place today.
The organizers are once again calling for people not to shop at large retail chains and not to pay with bank cards.
