BSP: The entry of a new party into the National Assembly will require efforts to implement the governance framework - 1

The entry of a new party into parliament and the redrawing of mandates will require efforts to implement the framework set by the joint government.

This was announced by the BSP Executive Bureau, which came up with an official position distributed to the media.

According to the members of the Bureau, any political destabilization is dangerous, it can thwart real efforts to resolve acute social problems, and we call on all participants in the political process to be reasonable and responsible.

Here is the entire position of the BSP Executive Bureau:

The BSP will continue to work for stability and pursue the goals of its political and legislative program, based on the political its principles of a nationally responsible party, a bearer of reason, aiming at national unity, democratic development and social prosperity. Parts of it - both in terms of pensions and free medicines for children have already been fulfilled. Therefore, we believe that any political destabilization is dangerous, can hinder real efforts to resolve acute social problems and we call for reason and responsibility from all participants in the political process. The entry of a new political entity into parliament and the redrawing of mandates in the National Assembly will require efforts to implement the framework set by the joint government.

We warn that at this moment both extreme populism, hidden behind the mask of "people from the people", and extreme xenophobia, masked behind democratic values, are dangerous. We also warn that normal governance cannot exist through street tactics or by transferring them to Parliament. This is particularly important in view of the strategic decisions and actions that are ahead, both in geopolitical terms and in terms of the country's financial stability.

Unfortunately, we must also note another open danger. After the Constitutional Court's decision, the knot of public doubts about the purity and transparency of the electoral process was not categorically cut. Our position is that urgent changes are needed in the electoral legislation to guarantee the Bulgarian citizen that every vote really matters and that every vote is counted honestly.
