34 electronic tickets for 4,600 leva, accumulated in just 3 months, were handed over on Thursday to a driver in Sliven by police officers from the Kotel regional office. A police operation has been underway in the region since the beginning of the week. Checkpoints for drivers and passengers have been set up throughout the entire Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nova TV reported.

„A specialized police operation is being conducted in all European countries from March 10 to 16. It is aimed at the use of belts and safety systems for children, as well as the use of helmets by motorcyclists, explained Commissioner Dimitar Kikyov, Head of the “Security Police” Department, ODMVR-Sliven.

An emphasis on which the police in Sliven emphasize is the delivery of electronic tickets.

“In just 2 days, we have delivered over 150 electronic tickets, worth a total of about 21,000 leva,” explained Commissioner Kikyov.

Every driver, after being stopped, is checked for undelivered electronic tickets, after which they are delivered to him. Each police team is equipped with a POS terminal and the driver can pay his fine immediately, using a 30% discount.

At the beginning of the year, it was in this region that fines were handed out to a driver whose total value was over 16,000 leva.
