The Spanish national football team, who on Sunday night won their record fourth European title after the success of the England team 2:1 in the final in Berlin, returned to his homeland, BTA reported.
The team landed on a chartered flight shortly after 3pm local time at Madrid-Barajas Airport, with captain Alvaro Morata first to exit the plane with the cup. He and team coach Luis de la Fuente held the trophy high before even stepping onto the track.
The entire Spain team then gathered outside the plane to pose for the many photographers as the players chanted "Champions! Champions!".
The celebrations in Spain started on Sunday night and will continue for at least several days, and the footballers and the sports and technical staff will be honored with various honours.
The big celebrations will be tonight at the City Hall in Madrid, as well as at the Cibeles Fountain, where Real Madrid fans usually celebrate their successes.
Many of the central streets of the Spanish capital will be closed to allow the bus with the European champions to pass undisturbed. They will be officially welcomed by King Felipe VI and then by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
