A silent mourning march has been announced today in Solingen - in memory of the Bulgarian family with two children who died in a fire.

It will start in the early afternoon and go past the burned home. As "Solinger Tageblatt" informs, a short prayer will be read by an imam at the site of the tragedy.

The publication recalls that the fire broke out on the night of March 24-25 in a cooperative in which the Bulgarian family had recently moved. The victims of the arson attack are the parents, aged 28 and 29, and their two children, aged three years and five months.

Police and prosecutors believe the fire was intentional and are investigating murder and attempted murder. No data on xenophobic motives were found.

The city authorities appeal not to send political messages

The mayor of the city, Tim Kurzbach, has spoken with the relatives of the victims, also writes "Solinger Tageblatt" and quotes his words: "Our hearts are heavy. We want to grieve together and allow all people to be involved. Comfort is hard to find, but community gives strength.

The mayor also asks that respect be shown to the wishes of the family, who want to say goodbye to their loved ones with a prayer. "Solinger Tageblatt" adds that there are also three injured in the fire who are still in the intensive care unit. And they are from Bulgaria - a family with one child.

On this occasion, the mayor issued an appeal - at the request of the relatives, that no political messages be sent. "It is about nothing more than deep human sorrow, too early separation and great sorrow.
