Arab and Muslim leaders accuse Israel of ethnic cleansing - 1

Arab and Muslim leaders today reaffirmed their commitment to support the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. This happened during a summit meeting of Arab and Muslim countries in Riyadh, France Press reported.

"We reaffirm our full support for a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Palestine and reject any Israeli measures or decisions aimed at consolidating the Israeli occupation of the city,” the leaders said in a joint statement at the end of the meeting.

They condemned the “genocide” perpetrated by Israel in Gaza and the “horrific and shocking” crimes by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, particularly in recent weeks in the northern part of the enclave. The declaration criticizes “torture, executions, disappearances and ethnic cleansing”.

The leaders also condemned the Israeli attacks on the UN and against the organization's Secretary-General, referring in particular to the restrictions imposed on UN representatives trying to gain access to what the statement said was the “territory of “ The State of Palestine“.

The leaders also said Israel must withdraw from the occupied territories if it wants peace. They referred to the Arab territories occupied since 1967. According to the leaders, this is the only way to achieve comprehensive peace in the region.

"A just and comprehensive peace in the region cannot be achieved without ending the Israeli occupation in all occupied territories based on the borders of June 4, 1967 – before Israel's occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights. This must be done in accordance with UN resolutions and the 2002 Arab peace plan, which stipulates that Israel must return occupied territories in exchange for normalizing relations with the Arab world, leaders say

Earlier today, in front of delegates at the forum, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom's de facto ruler, condemned what he called a “genocide” being carried out by Israel against the Palestinians, Reuters reported.

„The Kingdom once again categorically condemns the genocide committed by Israel against the fraternal Palestinian people,” said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He also called on the international community to stop Israel from attacking Iran and make it respect the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic.

The crown prince said in September that the kingdom will not recognize Israel unless a Palestinian state is established, Reuters recalls.
