According to a diplomatic source from Brussels, Ukraine will not receive new promises for a deadline for admission to NATO at the last two-day meeting of the foreign ministers of the alliance for this year, which begins today in Brussels, TASS reported.

„The issue of the moment of acceptance into the alliance cannot be resolved now in principle, so the ministers will not name any clear deadlines, the Ukrainian side is pushing this topic in vain now”, the diplomat noted.

„NATO already provides Ukraine with all possible military support. The time of acceptance can be discussed only after the end of the conflict, since the entry of Ukraine into the alliance before the end of the conflict with Russia will be a step towards the beginning of direct military action. confrontation between NATO and Russia”, he stressed.

According to him, both sides are now “trying to avoid such an escalation”.

At the meeting in Brussels, NATO foreign ministers are expected to discuss Russia's use of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile, its implications for the conflict in Ukraine, arms supplies to Kiev and Euro-Atlantic security.

The Secretary of Defense of the United States Lloyd Austin held a telephone conversation with the head of the Ukrainian military department Rustem Umerov, the Pentagon announced.

The two discussed the “dynamics of military actions and US military aid to Ukraine”. The document states that Russia's use of the Oreshnik medium-range non-nuclear ballistic missile is also affected.

The head of the Pentagon also informed Umerov “about the further increase of US military aid to Ukraine”.

Since the beginning of the administration of the current US President Joe Biden, Washington has committed to providing military aid to Ukraine for a total of 62 billion dollars.

On Monday, the US administration announced that it is providing Kiev with another package of military aid worth $725 million.
