Israel is in the process of destroying the regional “Axis of Evil” of its main adversary Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said today, quoted by DPA and BTA.
He stressed that his country is forced to wage war against what Tehran calls the “Axis of Resistance”, after the attack by “Hamas” on October 7, 2023
„Since the attack by Hamas, Israel has been forced to retaliate strongly against the blows it receives from Iran and its allies. "We are in an active phase of destroying these threats," Netanyahu said at a special session of the Knesset in honor of Paraguayan President Santiago Peña.
International support for Israel
The head of state of the South American country is in Israel to reopen his country's embassy in Jerusalem. Netanyahu thanked Peña deeply for his support, noting the importance of such a decision in the context of international relations.
Moving embassies to Jerusalem is a controversial decision on the international stage, as it could be perceived as recognition of Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem. Israel claims the entire city as its capital, while the Palestinians want East Jerusalem to be the capital of their future state.
