The Russian army continues its advance in Donetsk Oblast, advancing in Toretsk, Peschan, and near the settlements of Vozdvizhenka, Baranovka, Soleno, Slavyanka, Petropavlovka, Novoelizatovka, and Kurakhovo. The monitoring project DeepState updated its map tonight, outlining the new territories captured by Russian forces, quoted by News.bg.
According to DeepState, almost all of Kurakhovo is now under Russian control, facilitating Russian plans for an offensive to the west. Ukrainian Telegram channels have published video footage from Kurakhovo and Toretsk that reveal the scale of the destruction and devastation – both cities are reduced to ruins.
In Toretsk, fighting continues at high intensity, with the front line dividing the city in two. Russian forces are implementing scorched earth tactics, destroying infrastructure and attempting to eliminate Ukrainian defensive positions.
In recent days, Russian assault groups have been concentrated south and southwest of Toretsk, which analysts say indicates preparations for an offensive towards Velika Novosilka.
The chairman of the Pokrovsk city military administration, Sergei Dobryak, confirmed that Russian positions are now three kilometers from Pokrovsk. Artillery shelling and drone attacks continue, with the entire city under constant fire.
Although public services in Pokrovsk have been cut off since the summer – without electricity, gas and water – the city is still home to around 7,200 people. Several pharmacies, shops and the post office are operating on a limited basis, and the city hospital is only providing emergency care. Evacuation of residents continues, but without centralized points – people are being transferred on request, mainly to Pavlograd.
