The cost of damage to the agro-industrial complex of Kursk region after a massive attack by the armed forces of Ukraine is estimated at 110 billion rubles (over $1 billion), according to preliminary data, and the amount is growing, the acting deputy governor of the region, Sergei Starodubtsev, announced.

Earlier, regional authorities reported that 94 enterprises were damaged in eight border districts of the region.

„With the liberation of the territories, demining is carried out, then specialists come to assess the damage caused to our farmers. After that, we will plan what tools to use to compensate for their losses. "Today we can confirm damage of 110 billion rubles, this figure will grow," Starodubtsev said.

The massive attack of the Ukrainian armed forces on the Kursk region began on August 6, 2024. A federal state of emergency is in effect in the region. Residents of border areas have been evacuated to safe zones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev has lost more than 52 thousand servicemen since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk direction.
