British teenager Axel Rudakubana pleaded guilty on Monday at Liverpool Crown Court to charges of stabbing three girls to death in northern England in July, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The 18-year-old changed his plea at trial, starting with a claim of "not guilty", but on the first day of the trial he relented and declared himself "guilty". Rudacubana pleaded guilty to the murders of 6-year-old Bibi King, 7-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and 9-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar, who were brutally attacked while attending a dance event in Southport in July.
In addition to the murders, Rudacubana also pleaded guilty to ten counts of attempted murder. These are related to the serious assault committed at the same incident. He was also charged with manufacturing the deadly poison and possessing an Al Qaeda training manual.
Judge Julian Goose said Rudacubana would be sentenced on Thursday.
