Billionaire Musk, known for his unexpected reactions, caused astonishment when, during a rally in front of Trump supporters last night in Washington, he twice made a salute that was likened to a Nazi salute. According to some, however, it was an inappropriate gesture that Musk's critics have used to define as a Nazi salute.
Musk made the gesture just after thanking the crowd for allowing Trump to return to the White House. According to historian Claire Auben, a specialist in manifestations of Nazism in the United States, Musk's gesture was eloquent and was a Nazi salute.
According to Jimmy Gomez, a Democrat and member of the US House of Representatives, it did not take Musk long to show what ideology he sympathized with.
Historian Ruth Ben-Ghiat, a specialist in the subject of fascism, says that Musk's gesture was indeed a Nazi salute, which was also aggressive.
Former US Congresswoman, Democrat Cory Bush, said that Musk seemed to have kept his true nature to himself for a long time, and then ironically said that his Nazi salute was as if rehearsed in front of a mirror.
The topic was also commented on by media in Israel, Italy and France.
