Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called on the social network X to reconsider the EU's position on anti-Russian sanctions.
„The sanctions created by Brussels bureaucrats have achieved one goal: they have destroyed the competitiveness of the European economy. It is time for a change!“ – the politician wrote.
He stressed that the sanctions against Russia have not brought a positive effect, since they have not put an end to the conflict in Ukraine, and Europe itself is not able to replace energy resources.
The Kremlin regularly notes that the country will cope with the sanction pressure that "hostile countries" continue to exert on Russia. In the West, opinions are also growing that restrictive measures are ineffective.
