Iran does not intend to waver in defending its nuclear program, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghai said, a day after Israel and the United States threatened to oppose Tehran's nuclear ambitions, Reuters reports, quoted by BTA.
“Iran's peaceful nuclear program continues, as it has for the past three decades, based on Iran's right as a party to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and we will definitely not show any weakness on this issue,“ Baghaei added.
Israel and the United States have expressed their determination to thwart Iran's nuclear ambitions and limit its influence in the Middle East. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said after his meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio that the countries would take decisive action against Iran.
“Behind every terrorist group, behind every act of violence, behind every destabilizing action, behind everything that threatens the peace and stability of millions of people who call the region home, there is Iran,“ Rubio stressed.
