Russia does not yet plan to reduce the list of hostile countries. This was reported to TASS by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
"There are no such plans at the moment", the Kremlin spokesman said, answering a relevant question.
Russia has several lists of unfriendly countries for the implementation of diplomatic and economic countermeasures. The first was approved in the spring of 2021 and included only two countries - the USA and the Czech Republic. Restrictions were introduced for them on the work of diplomatic missions.
The second list was approved in March 2022 and was updated in July and October of the same year. Transactions with countries included in it must be carried out in a special way.
Currently, this list includes 46 countries, including Bulgaria: all EU member states, as well as Ukraine, Montenegro, Switzerland, Albania, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Great Britain, Monaco, Norway, San Marino, North Macedonia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Micronesia, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan (considered a territory of China, but since 1949 governed by its own administration).
In September 2024, the Russian government approved another similar list. It included 47 countries and territories that "implement policies that impose destructive neoliberal ideological attitudes that contradict traditional Russian spiritual and moral values". The list also includes the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, Japan and other countries. Slovakia and Hungary are not among the EU countries, and Turkey is not among the NATO countries.
