Rossen Zhelyazkov's cabinet was supported by 125 votes in parliament and Bulgaria once again has a regular government.
"We have a very good reason to congratulate ourselves as Bulgarians. This government is not ideal and many compromises have been made, but this is a great success after everything that has developed in recent years and we now have a regular government with very broad support. All sectors are in distress. The infrastructure was neglected, nothing was being done. There is no water, no electricity. We are in the queue in the Recovery Plan and all this was because of political instability," said former Deputy Prime Minister and diplomat Meglena Plugchieva on "Denyat ON AIR".
In her words, we must be optimistic and support the government for our own good.
"Rosen Zhelyazkov is a person with a pragmatic view of things and is aware that there will be criticism. We must give this government a chance. If it gives good results right from the beginning, it will receive trust and support," Plugchieva added for Bulgaria ON AIR.
According to her, we are in a continuous whirlpool of one-day events and with an increasingly lower threshold of tolerance for each other.
"We must make up for what has been lost over the last 4 years as unrealized policies and, in parallel, work with the new circumstances. Europe itself will have to adapt to a new United States with new leadership. We must have a strong and regular government that, in domestic politics, can implement many policies," the guest commented.
The criteria for membership in the Eurozone have been met or are being met, Plugchieva is categorical.
"It must be assessed whether the date should be January 1, 2026, or postponed by a few months. We must look responsibly at politicians who are in our highest institution. None of the party formations has either the desire or interest in going to new elections, because everyone will be losers. We cannot have 50% of children not graduating with a high school diploma, we cannot have our children dying from drugs," she also emphasized.
