The average amount of the basic pension, without supplements, increased by 24 stotinki in February compared to January this year, according to statistical data from the National Social Security Institute. The value reached is now 836 leva and 15 stotinki.
On average, men receive 259 leva higher pension than women.
In Sofia city, the average pension is the highest - 1041 leva, as for men it is 1232, and for women - 916 leva.
The region with the lowest pensions remains Kardzhali, on average for both sexes 654 leva.
The NSSI data show that pensioners aged up to 44 are over 94 thousand, another 91 thousand are between 45 and 54 years old, over 100 thousand are those from 55 to 59 years old.
355 thousand of the pensioners in our country are 80 years old and older.
The most numerous group are those between 70 and 74 years old - 419 thousand people.
