We have witnessed since last week the intention of the ruling majority to determine how the state and public relations will be governed for the next 7 years for a period of 7 days, Lena Borislavova from PP-DB stated this on the sidelines of parliament.
"All procedural rules for all regulators - both the SJC and its inspectorate - have been forcefully introduced into the committees of the National Assembly, without even publicly publishing the election rules and the deadlines published in them are a 7-day period or, at best, a 14-day period for the nomination of so many key members who will determine how Bulgaria and public relations will look in the future. Proposals for extension of terms, for transparency, for conflict of interest of these members are not accepted.
We also see that their coalition agreement is being violated, which is none of our business, but the problem is that the regulations for organizing the activities of the National Assembly are also being violated, which has the rank of law and which states that at the beginning of each session the Speaker of the National Assembly must propose a schedule according to which the regulators are to be filled," Borislavova also said.
“If we again have an election of regulators with one candidate each with bright political figures or those who are relatives of bright political figures, society will again have no guarantee and confidence that these regulators will react fairly“, she added and specified that it is about how the next Prosecutor General will be elected by the Supreme Judicial Council and whether "there will continue to be impunity on many topics“.
