An elderly man and a young woman have been found and returned to their families, the police in Pazardzhik announced.
The report of a missing 37-year-old woman from the Velingrad village of Yundola was received last night at the Velingrad Regional Office. Her husband reported that she had left their home and was missing. The woman has a health problem and is being cared for by her relatives.
The search for her began last night, with the police joined by volunteers from the villages of Yundola and Sveta Petka, forest workers and representatives of local hunting groups. However, by late at night, the woman had not been found. She was found this morning in a wooded area near the road to Velingrad, a few kilometers from the resort town.
She was disoriented and frostbitten due to the low temperatures in the mountains at night, but in good general condition. After being examined by a doctor, she was handed over to her relatives.
On Friday, police officers from the Septemvri Police Department received a signal from an elderly resident of the village of Lozen. She reported that her 85-year-old husband had left his home in the village on a bicycle and was missing. The woman warned that her husband suffers from dementia and often gets lost. In addition to police officers and on-duty patrol cars, residents of the village of Lozen and hunters joined the search that began.
The man was found late on Saturday afternoon near the village of Zvunichevo, near the railway line. He was frozen and unresponsive.
After a medical examination, the pensioner was handed over to his relatives and safely returned home.
The leadership of the ODMVR-Pazardzhik expresses gratitude to everyone who took part in the search for the woman and man.
