Todor Stoychev from Svechnikov and Beloslava Ivanova from Plovdiv BG became saber champions for men and women, first round of the fencing tournament Cup Bulgaria. 31 men from eight clubs and 20 women from five clubs took part in the competition, BTA reports.
In sabers, gold was won by Todor Stoychev, second place went to Nikola Meitsov (Svechnikov), and bronze medals were shared by Simeon Dalekov and Viktor Filev from the same club.
Beloslava Ivanova (CSKA) became the champion of the saber, Kalina Atanasova (Svechnikov) won silver, and Emma Neikova and Kristina Milanova (both from Svechnikov) took third place. Today, the competition continues with the battles of the male and female cadets from the second round of the Bulgarian Cup.
